What does triple net mean?

Triple net lease or NNN, as it is commonly referred to, is a type lease that has the tenant responsible for a portion of the property operating expenses. Basically the same as CAM, triple net expenses are those paid the tenant. Primarily, N= property taxes, N= casualty insurance and N= maintenance, water, sewer etc.
